An SA3is the Australian Bureau of Statistics' Statistical Area Level 3 — a geographic unit of roughly 30,000 to 130,000 people. Sydney has more than a dozen, Hobart just a few. We chose SA3 as the editorial floor because it's small enough to have a character (“Inner West”, “Northern Beaches”) but large enough to support a confident sample. Suburbs sit inside the region as a sortable filter, not as their own destination.
When a region is marked indicative, our reading has fewer than 20 observations for the headline plate — directionally useful, but read it as a signal, not a quote. Thinregions (n < 5) we surface but do not vouch for.
